H&S Co-ordinator

SHEQ Co-ordinator

Report to: SHEQ Manager, Compliance Director

Office Location: Wakefield

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000

 

Main responsibilities

You will be required to work closely with the SHEQ Manager / Group Compliance Director to support the operational business with the Day-to-Day delivery of the SHEQ function. This will involve, but is not limited to:

  • Maintaining SHEQ related spread sheets, updating records, including SHEQ statistics and information required for the monthly reporting
  • Liaising with contracts/site managers in the creation of SHEQ related documentation both pre-construction, construction and post construction works such as:
    • Site files
    • Construction phase plans
    • Asbestos reports
    • Risk assessments/method statements
    • CoSHH assessments
    • Health and safety files
    • Operation and maintenance manuals
  • Assist with maintaining departmental competence and training requirements for SHEQ.
  • Assist all employees across the division with SHEQ queries and issues in person, via correspondence and over the phone.
  • Will need to be capable and willing to travel across the UK and Ireland with possible overnight stays to undertake site inspections and tours as required.
  • Develop and deliver SHEQ communications, bulletins, learning alerts and toolbox talks etc.

 

Requirements:

  • Experience of one or more of Retail / Construction / M&E / Solar industries.
  • Understands how the role fits with and supports the businesses priorities.
  • Able to make effective decisions. objective: uses sound judgement, evidence and knowledge to provide accurate information.
  • Collaborating and partnering, creates and maintains positive, professional and trusting working relationships.

Qualifications:

  • CSCS Card
  • Asbestos Awareness
  • IOSH Managing Safely / SMSTS or equivalent
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or General Certificate Desirable
  • Member of IOSH Register or equivalent
  • IEMA Management Certificate or equivalent
  • First / Mental Health First Aider
  • Face Fit tester
  • Training delivery related qualifications
